A coffee shop and lounge -- and a blackboard displaying drink and food offerings. Smiles on the faces of the person taking an order and delivering it to your table. A nice "Hi!" always from that counter person, the husband and wife ownership team, and even some of the customers themselves. Welcome to North Arlington, New Jersey's KTB Coffee Shop & Lounge (323 Ridge Road, 201-991-1700, www.ktbcoffeeshop.com). Okay, maybe you have experienced all of what I typed in paragraph one. Nice stuff. However, I'm going to sing the praises of the Kristopher and Tatiane Baignosche owned lounge that will be celebrating its first anniversary on Sunday, November 19. And, by the way, I'm not really local to the establishment. I'm two towns away, about a 10 - 15 minute drive. Consider it a testament to the joy our family has during a visit. KTB Coffee Shop & Lounge is Kris and Tatiane's "dream made reality." Don't miss the special celebration, even if you just stop in for a pumpkin spice coffee (hint hint -- I'm recommending it!). Pictured below is what my wife and I order when we visit. My pumpkin spice coffee and crumb cake are in front, and Lucille's Irish creme coffee and muffin (she often orders different kinds) are in the rear. Yes, coffee is indeed a favored offering at KTB, but there are other displayed menu items that catch the eye (and some your taste buds). The roast beef panini with lettuce, tomato and peppers (pictured below on the right) is great for lunch or dinner, and on a Sunday (and yes, every) morning, coffee and a scrambled egg, cheese and Taylor ham sandwich on roll pairs nicely with you reading your newspaper. Make sure you read good news, though; you're at KTB Coffee Shop & Lounge. You're happy, remember?! A variety of salads, sandwiches, soups, small plate offerings (I finally got a chance to try the meatballs, see below), desserts and drinks are offered, as is entertainment most nights by Johnny B. or Chloe. Occasionally, special events are held as well, especially the anniversary celebration this Sunday! Great atmosphere. A nice place to visit.
